Examity

Examity is a virtual proctoring service that is integrated with UL Lafayette’s Moodle learning management system. Examity offers (5) five different levels of service depending on which the Faculty member chooses to use. All levels institute authentication before allowing access to a test. Two of five levels offer only authentication, the next three levels have authentication with varying levels of proctoring. Additionally, the integrated Examity link allows instructors to see when students register for and complete exams, incident reports, and the upper 3 levels of exam monitoring are recorded for instructor review.

If you decide to use Examity in your course, you will need to notify the Office of Distance Learning at least 2 weeks prior to your first exam so that your course data can be imported into the Examity Portal site. To request Examity, click the Requests for Edu Tools link under the EduTools menu on the left and have your course name and course number ready. Fill out the form and have your course information handy. You will be notified by email once the process is complete. For additional Examity support documents see below.

After your course is added to the Examity portal site, you will need to add an Examity link in Moodle so that students can register for exam appointments and to initiate exams. Students will need to schedule exams at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $5 late fee.

*Examity can be used on any desktop/laptop platform using most common web browsers, use the latest updated browser at all times (Firefox is recommended). You can do a Web Browser Check to make sure you have no issues before taking an exam.

Students are able to schedule exam appointments with Examity 24 hours per day / 7 days per week. Students are responsible for the proctoring fees. Faculty should notify students of any additional costs at the beginning of the semester.
