Fall Conferences Offer Networking, Fresh Perspectives

Conferences are a great opportunity to network and learn about the new tools and latest techniques in the world of online learning.

Office of Distance Learning Interim Director Claire Arabie and Instructional Designer Carey Hamburg present during a past OLC conference.

Both Quality Matters Connect and Online Learning Consortium Accelerate, which offer valuable insights for those in online education, are held in the fall.

Faculty interested in registering may be able to use Distance Learning funds within their department to cover the cost of registration and travel.

To do so, complete a Routing Cover Sheet for E-Learning Support Funds and attach it with the Travel Request before traveling.

QM Connect

The 11th annual conference will be held about six hours from Lafayette in Grapevine, Texas, Oct. 27-30.

This conference offers several concentrations to help educators discover what works and what doesn’t, gain fresh ideas, and learn about new best practices.

Registration starts at $685. Register by Sept. 13 for regular pricing.

OLC Accelerate

This year marks the 25th year OLC Accelerate is held. The conference will once again take place at Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Lake in Orlando, Florida, Nov. 19-22.

This conference emphasizes research and networking, providing a number of sessions for varied areas of interest.

Registration starts at $695. Early bird pricing is available through Sept. 25.
