How to Log in
Faculty and Staff
Moodle courses taught Fall 2020 to Spring 2021 have been migrated and are accessible at moodle.louisiana.edu. If you want to access your courses created before Fall 2020, please submit a ticket to IT to have them migrated. Old course data will be maintained at mdl2.louisiana.edu.
Where to Find Courses
From My Courses Tab
When you log in to Moodle, click My course tab (top of the page). You should see a list of courses under this tab.
From Moodle Dashboard
After logging in to Moodle, you will be taken to your Dashboard. Under the Course Overview on the Dashboard, you will find links to each Moodle course you are enrolled in. Click a course name to open its course page.
Can't find your course?
Academic courses created since July 1, 2020, have been migrated to the upgraded system. If you want to access your courses created before Fall 2020, please submit a ticket to the IT Service Desk to have them migrated.
Staff can access non-academic courses through moodle.louisiana.edu until further notice.
How to Set Up Your Course
Once you’ve found your course, follow one of these steps:
- Build a new course: Request the Moodle Suggested Layout, and add your content to the course using this guide.
- Import an existing course: To import content from a previous version of the course into your course for the upcoming semester, follow these instructions to import your course content.

Getting Help
Faculty and Staff
If you’re unable to log in, have trouble accessing or finding a Moodle course, or are still using 3.1 for a non-academic course, contact the IT Service Desk.
For questions regarding Moodle features and EduTools, the Instructional Support Team offers several resources:
- Self-Service Center: Search or browse for videos and step-by-step directions on some of the most asked questions by faculty about Moodle and our other integrated technology tools.
- Support Request Form: Connect with us via email to ask questions or report issues.
- Consultation Request Form: Members of our team are available for consultation meetings upon request. Please let us know some basic information about your needs and when you are available to meet by submitting the request form.
Students
- Support Page for Students: Find videos for how to use Moodle 3.9 and resource pages for using VoiceThread, ProctorU, Examity, and Zoom.
- IT Service Desk Request: Submit a ticket to the IT Service Desk for help.
- IT Student Support Page: Students can find a variety of help topics here such as Moodle, ULink access, passwords, and email issues.
- Registrar’s Office Enrollment Support: Students can access this page for questions and issues concerning enrollment, registration, and course availability.
