The Office of Distance Learning is announcing changes to its professional development offerings that will provide greater access and flexibility through on-site, virtual, and self-paced options.

Webinar Wednesdays

The Instructional Support Team will host a weekly professional development webinar each Wednesday at noon. This series will address best practices in online and hybrid course design and delivery by covering a range of topics related to online/hybrid pedagogy, integrating EduTools, and using Moodle. The new format provides flexibility for faculty to attend virtually and will be more interactive.

Monthly Roundtables

The Instructional Support Team will facilitate a monthly roundtable on campus to provide a forum for faculty to discuss EduTools and Moodle. Faculty will have an opportunity to share best practices and ask questions.

Professional Development Playlist

The Professional Development Playlist offers dozens of short videos and PDF tip sheets on a range of professional development topics focused on improving online and hybrid course design and delivery. The playlist is ideal for self-paced professional development. Find the playlist under Professonal Development Playlist.

Certification Opportunities

We’ve added opportunities to become a ULearn Certified Online Teacher or Course Designer. Both the Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) Workshop and the Course Design Practicum will be offered this spring and again this summer for those interested in teaching or designing an online or hybrid course. Register at SignUpGenius or by requesting information at distancelearning@louisiana.edu.
