This summer, the University upgraded its LMS from Moodle 3.1 to Moodle 3.9. As part of that transition, returning faculty will notice changes to Moodle navigation, features and functions when logging in at moodle.louisiana.edu

Faculty who participated in a two-semester LMS pilot noted several improvements within Moodle 3.9. Review faculty comments here.

New features include:

  • Upgraded dashboard.
  • Accordion-style module navigation.
  • User tours to familiarize yourself with new features.

Moodle Training via Learning Spaces

Faculty can now access tutorials and training modules through Learning Spaces to learn more about Moodle features. Find Learning Spaces under Faculty Support within your Moodle dashboard. Learn more about creating your Learning Spaces account.

Additionally, the Instructional Support Team will hold webinars throughout the semester to familiarize faculty with the upgraded system. Visit SignUpGenius to register.

Old course data

The University will continue to provide access to the legacy Moodle 3.1 site at mdl2.louisiana.edu. Log in with your ULID and password. The site will be used primarily to host non-academic courses.

Some EduTools will no longer work on this site. If you need to have a course migrated from Moodle 3.1 to Moodle 3.9, please submit a ticket to IT to request a course migration.
