New peer development program aims to enhance online, hybrid learning
Tue, 09/14/2021 - 5:14pmBeginning Fall 2021, the Office of Distance Learning is introducing a small-group professional development pilot program for UL Lafayette faculty.
ULearn Certified faculty can submit proposals to facilitate one of up to five (5) Distance Learning Faculty Learning Communities (FLC) in which they will collaborate with faculty colleagues on ways to innovate online and hybrid learning. The deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27. Once facilitators are selected, interested faculty can register to participate in an FLC as members. Each learning community will be limited to six member-role participants.
This new program aims to advance online and hybrid learning through peer-to-peer faculty development. Each community will engage in activities focused on innovating through a specific pedagogy, technique, or technology proposed by the faculty facilitator.
ULearn faculty selected to serve as facilitators will receive a $1,200 stipend. The FLCs will meet through the Fall and Spring, showcasing their results to faculty during the Spring semester and on the Distance Learning website.
